Breaking Taboo has launched its first fundraising campaign, initiated by our team members engaged in peer-to-peer fundraising. Our team shared their fundraising pages, created through the platform Flipcause, with family, friends, and their social networks to spread word of the cause. They graciously shared their personal stories involving mental health, mental illness, and suicide prevention to relay what Breaking Taboo means to them.

Suicide prevention is a global epidemic so it is necessary that our message extends to all corners of the world. We are utilizing the power of media to spread our mission of breaking the taboo around mental health and suicide in order to save lives. Our most powerful tool is our documentary, which is currently in the works. Produced by Breaking Taboo’s sister production company, the film speaks with suicide survivors, counselors, and mental health professionals to discover how they are breaking the taboo around mental health and suicide. This highly visual element puts real faces to real stories; audiences can connect with the individual humans whose everyday lives are affected by the stigma.
